Bake Sale Time!

Hi Everybody! Unfortunately, I have no new recipe to post today, but I wanted to invite everyone to my 5th annual great Rockville Bake Sale this weekend!

I've been hosting bake sales since eighth grade to raise money for Share Our Strength, a national organization fighting childhood hunger. They do amazing things to help less fortunate kids in our country--from funding school and summer meal programs to teaching families how to cook healthy, inexpensive meals, Share Our Strength is a driving force in eliminating childhood hunger in America.

My bake sale this year will take place today, May 26th, and tomorrow, May 27th at Rockville's Hometown Holidays celebration in Rockville Town Square. Please stop by between 1 and 8 pm on either day (or both!) and help me raise money by buying some indulgent and delicious cookies, cupcakes, brownies, rice krispie treats, or even homemade dog biscuits!

I hope to see everyone there, but if you're not in the area or can't come to the event, please consider making an online donation directly to my bake sale at http://join.strength.org/site/TR?team_id=114051&fr_id=1190&pg=team. You can also place an online order for any requested baked goods at my website, http://forgoodnessbakes.webs.com/.

Please help me support this great cause and come by the bake sale or make a donation today!

I'll be back with a bake sale update (and hopefully another recipe) soon!

Happy (Belated) Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and did something special for their mom yesterday! My mom's day started with a picture-perfect breakfast in bed made of coffee cake muffins (I just used this recipe), fruit salad, and bacon. You can't have a perfect breakfast for my mom without bacon.

Fruit Salad with Ginger and Lime

 Ingredients:
4 cups chopped fresh fruit (I used raspberries, mango, and strawberries)
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons chopped crystallized ginger

Directions:
Mix all ingredients gently in a large bowl and allow to rest for a while to allow the flavors to come together.
